Strength and training
Surfing is a demanding sport that requires
strength, flexibility, and mental focus. All surfers
experience times when we feel like we just can't paddle
anymore, hold our breath, or get into the right wave. Maybe
you've experienced lower back pain when you paddle or when
you tried to do a hard turn? Strength and flexibility can
help all of this.
Our boot camps are serious, full-body workouts focused on
four things:
- Building the strength needed for surfing
- Increasing flexibility
- Focused breathing and increasing lung capacity
- Becoming more in tune with the ocean
We will train at the beach in front of the ocean, utilizing
our surroundings and combining physical training techniques
with yoga exercises. Each class will incorporate different
workouts and activities including surfing, running, yoga,
ocean swims and distance paddling on our boards. During
each and every session we will be observing the wind, the
waves, and the currents to better understand the complex
nuances of the ocean.

Zuma -- Meet at lifeguard tower #10
Santa Monica -- Meet at the beach at the end of Ocean Park
Blvd.
El Porto -- Meet at the beginning of the main parking lot.

RATES:
BOOT CAMP #1 -- $225 per person for the entire session.
In order to help keep our waves and beaches clean, 10% of
all proceeds from the class will be donated to Heal the Bay
in the name of ZSS Training.
